10 Symptoms That May Indicate Cancer of the Cervix

Women suffer from many changes on their cervix during their lifetime, but the most dangerous one is the appearance of cervical cancer. This disease develops on the lining of the cervix, specifically on the tissue that covers it. This tissue can be affected by a persistent infection as a result of a sexually transmitted virus: the human papillomavirus.

  1. Bleeding between menstrual periods

This can happen to anyone and it may be just a mild discomfort or indicate some serious issue. If it occurs to you make sure to pay a visit to your gynecologist.

  1. Bleeding after menopause

This is not a normal condition, especially if you are in amenopause; therefore consult your doctor regarding this issue.

  1. Bleeding after sex

If this is rather often, then ensure a visit to your doctor as this could indicate an occurrence of an infection or a symptom of cervical cancer.

  1. Bleeding after a pelvic exam

This exam is not the preferred one for most women, but after it is done it should not cause bleeding. If you experience heavy flow, visit your doctor immediately.

  1. Bleeding after taking a shower

You should not bleed after having a shower, but if you do, then this is a signal of cervical cancer.

  1. Heavy periods than usual

The change of abundance in bleeding during the period depends on many factors. Some women report a change in flow when season change. But, in some cases it can be an indication of a cervical cancer or some other malignant form. Just to be on the safeside consult your doctor.

  1. Periods that lasts longer than usual

The time frames of a menstrual period is 2 to 7 days, but if this period is longer make sure to consult a doctor.

  1. Abnormal vaginal discharge

The change of your vaginal discharge is an indication of some heath issue. For instance, if it is more abundant with a smelly scent or with traces of blood, then you should pay a visit to your gynecologist.

  1. Experiencing pain during intercourse

If you feel pain while intercourse, it could be an indication of a cervical cancer. Experiencing pain during penetration is a signal that something is wrong, therefore contact your doctor.

There are many reasons for pelvic pain, however if you suffer from acute and chronic pain, you need to speak with a medical expert to determine the root of this condition.
