Cinnamon is a delicious spice that in the past was extremely expensive due to its incredible scent and properties. It was used in perfumes, love potions, food spice and as a natural medicine.

This spice is derived from the inner bark of a tropical evergreen tree usually in the rainy season. The bark is dried and then curled into long quills. After that it is ground as a powder or cut into lengths and sold as cinnamon sticks.

There are two varieties of the spice used today:

  • Cinnamomum zeylanicum (Ceylon cinnamon),

The latter one is sold in many countries another the name of “cinnamon” and it is added in stews, curries, sweet desserts and other savory meals.

The reasons for this condition are bad soil conditions and the presence of various fungi. The use of cinnamon will come really handy in this issue as it acts as a potent fungus exterminator. Just dust the fresh soil with this spice and in that way you will prevent the seeds from dampening off.

Plants can be wounded as well, and we commonly do that accidentally. So,when we unexpectedly cut and wound our plants, we should quickly brush some cinnamon on the “wound” in order to stimulate the healing process and thus prevent infections.

You will successfully remove the harmful mold and mildew from your plants by using cinnamon. You should sprinkle some of the spice on the soil and in that way you will see how your house plants will flourish quickly. In addition to this benefit, the use of cinnamon can help you in the elimination of gnats in seedlings and houseplants and thus holding them at bay.

It is a remarkable rooting hormone so there will be no need of the bought chemical ones. Just apply cinnamon powder to the stem when you plant the cut, and the effects will be amazing.

All you need to do is to sprinkle cinnamon powder around the garden beds and that will kill them and hold the ants at bay. Ants cannot stand thecinnamon; therefore make sure to sprinkle this spice on all places that you do not want ants to come near to.

Mushrooms and weed are not a fan of the cinnamon, and for that purpose free your plants form both of them by dusting the garden beds with cinnamon. Thanks to this process they will be soon gone.
