Joint pain is commonly referred to the aging process, however it can be caused as a result of an injury while performing a physical activity, and even while resting or sleeping.
As per a conducted survey by the French Institute of Public Opinion (FIFG), 93% of French people suffer from joint pain and almost 10 million struggle with osteoarthritis.
The body contains around 400 joints which are well lubricated, but when a person reaches a certain age cartilage deterioration and hardening of certain tissues start to occur.
There are different joint pains like the following ones:
Mechanical pain which is linked to the cartilage deterioration in case of osteoarthritis or malformation of the affected limb.
Traumatic pain as a result of an accident, a blow or a bad stretch.
Inflammatory pain due to arthritis and it is reflected on the tendons or other joints.
Plus, joint pain can result from other diseases that cause joint pain like gout, bacteria and viruses.
The joints commonly suffer from these two diseases: arthritis and osteoarthritis. However, they are not completely the same; here it is the difference between them:
In the case of arthritis you will notice swelling ad redness as a result of the ongoing inflammation, and if you experience pain that wakes you up at the middle of the night, then for sure you are dealing with arthritis.
Osteoarthritis is manifested by mechanical pain which means that your joint turns hard after a long period of inactivity and once you are becoming mobile the pain will gradually decrease.
These conditions are commonly being treated by taking anti-inflammatories and analgesics, but they are only treating the symptoms and not the root of the problem. Not only that on the long run they are not effective they are as well as followed by side effects to which the stomach takes the biggest toll.
Instead of immediately turning for the use of pharmaceutical medicines you should first try some of the natural remedies which are based on common food products. In this article we shall present one of these remedies which will fight off the joint pain and as well as restore the normal function of your joints and thus making it easy the performance of your daily activities.
The recipe for this remedy comes from Russia and it is based on only one ingredient, an eggplant. Namely, a 70-year-old woman used this remedy and never suffered from joint pain anymore. This vegetable can be consumed as a beverage or used externally as a massage lotion.
Benefits of Eggplant
Eggplant contains properties that can lower joint pain and slow down the onset of the diseases related to joint pain. This vegetable is widely used in India as an essential health remedy, especially for cardiovascular diseases and joint pain.
It contains potent antioxidant properties and has the ability to lower bad LDL cholesterol. The water of this vegetable promotes blood circulation and prevents the clogging of the arteries.
It is packed with minerals like potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, and phosphorus; and vitamins like vitamin A, B1, B2, and E. Likewise, it contains fiber, folic acid, and carbohydrates. Each one of these components is very beneficial in strengthening the joints, muscles and cartilage.
Thanks to the content of flavonoids in eggplant, it can fight off joint pain by reducing infections and inflammation, especially in the case of arthritis.
The Eggplant Remedy
4 cups of water
In a pot pour the liter of water and place it on heat. Boil the water and after it reaches its boiling point turn off the heat and then add the eggplant cut into slices. However, do not remove the eggplant skin as it contains the highest count of antioxidants. Leave the water to cool off and after that strain the mixture. From this solution pour 750 milliliters in another container, and the rest of it in a different container.
Use: This remedy can be used either internally or externally.
Internal use: The 750 milliliters of the solution divide it in 3 parts and consume each part prior having your meals. The first drink, consume it in the morning on an empty stomach, the second one prior lunch and the third one before going to bed.
External use: In the rest of the solution, add 50 milliliters of olive oil and mix it nicely. Use this solution for massaging the painful areas before bedtime. In order to keep these areas warm you should place a bandage on and in this way the solution will deeply penetrate into the skin.
The diet is very important when dealing with a certain health issue as some products can improve and even treat the condition, and others can worsen it. In the case of joint pain you should take in products that are high in omega-3, anti-oxidant oils (olive oil), fish, legumes, and fruits. We recommend turning to a vegetarian diet, and strongly advise you to avoid the consumption of foods containing omega-6 like soy or sunflower oils, which contain linoleic acids, then the use of red meat and refined products. These products can increase the inflammation, and thus worsen the current health condition.
Nonetheless, before making any changes in your diet, it is best to consult a doctor or a nutritionist which will determine your proper diet.
