We are all wondering how some people can live very long, and how someone dies in its forties or fifties. As a result of that many surveys were conducted, many people talked to who reached the 100, and among all this data the most interesting was the story of a 109-year-old woman, called Jessie Gallan.
We should trust her story s she is the one who reached this age so she is supposed to know something about longevity.
Her story was revealed by a 2015 survey which was conducted by Holiday Retirement. This was a massive across-America survey in which were involved people over 100 years who were simply asked what is the secret for long life.
It was a detailed survey with many offered tips how they have reached the 100, some said that is all about the family, others said that living life to the fullest was the key, but the most surprising tip came from Jessie Gallan.
Here is her story:
She was born in 1906, in Kintore, Scotland, living on a family farm with her parents and six siblings. She led a simple and rural life, sleeping in a cottage and living outside free as a bird.
Jessie Gallan visited school for a short period of time as when she was old enough she started working in a farm kitchen. Next, she worked as a housemaid in the city, in a wealthy family. After that, she moved onto working in the service industry.
She had really simple life, and when she reached the age when she couldn’t take care of herself, her family accommodated her in the Crosby House, a home for ill or alone seniors. The employee in the home, Gillian Bennett, says only positive things about Jessie:
“Jessie is a lovely woman. She has got her best friend here, Sarah Jane, and they are always together. She likes her music and likes her exercise class and is a very independent person. She is always walking about.”
This lovely lady passed away in March 2015, but she told the secret for her longevity before she died. Here it is whatJessie says in her own words:
“My secret to a long life has been staying away from men,” Gallan noted. “They’re just more trouble than they’re worth.”
In addition to this, she revealed her eating habit that offered her vitality: “I like my porridge. I have all my life.”
This interesting theory of Jessie can make you really think about it. Nowadays, more and more women are becoming desperate in finding the right men, but probably the idea of Jessie is wise, maybe is probably the best to let go the idea of good men, and perhaps then, the one that is supposed for you will come into your life.
Naturally, there is no scientific backup about this approach, but it is worth to try it, since it comes from someone who has reached the longevity in life.
